This is Lily and Lily will make you smile uncontrollably.
June of last year this sweet girls parent's Kathryn and Denan booked their March 2018 wedding with me, I was thrilled when they later came to me for this adorable session as well. Mom wanted to try a DIY hot air balloon. This was her Facebook post the night before the shoot:
"How to test the constraints of your relationship by Katie and Denan:
Step 1: Decide to attempt an epic yet seemingly simple Pinterest craft for your child's first birthday photoshoot.
Step 2: Go to the craft store and gather supplies. Giggle and boast about how "this project is much simpler than it looks" and "no problem. We should have this done in a few hours".
Step 3: Spend the next two days yelling at each other about how "hot it is in the garage", "the spray paint is giving you a migraine", "LOOK! You BROKE it!" and that "Pinterest is in fact...a dirty liar."
Step 4: Panic.
Step 5: At 1:45 AM on Day 2, give up. Give up and use duct tape to hold the project together.
Step 6: Do shots and go to bed.
If you survive the Pinterest fail test your relationship is golden."
When they showed up I was expecting a ball of duct tape, but I have to say I think they did a pretty darn good job a DIY team. I was initially going to edit out the duct tape on the hot air balloon for this, but decided it was authentic and would forever remind them of the time they tried to make a hot air balloon for Lily. These are authentic memories that have no price tag.
