I met this sweet couple last year in July after Rusty popped the question to Emily while at a local Mardi Gras parade. The engagement session took place at The Barn of Pearl River which would later be the couples wedding venue. I loved their fun approach to the engagement session bringing along their dog Rebel and Rusty even dressing up in full hunting gear. The hunt was over for these two after meeting as seniors in High School and they've been inseparable ever since.
After originally planning a March 2017 date Emily learned in March of 2016 that her father had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Wedding planning went into overdrive as the family scrambled to move everything to May 28, 2016. Emily's father being present on her big day was crucial and everything came together beautifully. Rain attempted to put a damper on the day, but nothing could have wiped the smiles from everyone's face. You could feel the love at this wedding and I must admit my eyes were leaking on more than one occasion during the day. Even during the editing of these photos the feelings of that day seemed to resurface in me and I found myself in tears. This wedding gave me all the feels reminding me that love in all its forms is alive and well.
